Crotcheting is better than Corporations

This last semester of law school, I'm walking a delicate balance between pretending that I'm not in law school anymore and feeling bad about not doing more work. To be fair, I'm a sort of hard worker in general, so aside from the pass/fail class I'm taking, I do the reading, pay attention in class, and study for exams. I'm just less invested this semester. All of that to say that I'm diving in to some activities that I've really missed while I've been in school - one of which is crocheting. I pulled out my hooks and yarn and started playing with some patterns.

Completely inspired by Lucy over at Attic24, I bought $25 of lovely yarn.

And in the next week or so, I'm planning to get started on this delightful bag so that I have something to put all my yarn in!

PS - For those of you - ahem, Virgin - who have absolutely no interest in all this craftiness, please feel free to skip my crafty posts. But be forewarned, I think (and hope) that there's more to come!

pretty yarns! What are you planning to make? I knit and crochet myself, and law school sometimes seriously gets in the way! I managed to knit for a few hours last night though. It was great! I hope you enjoy getting back into it!

Oooh, pretty colors!! I don't dare go into yarn stores because I know I will want to buy all the pretty soft stuff, but I'm pathetic at finishing knitting projects. I really should make time to knit more often, just because then I would be happier and more efficient and all that good stuff. Looking forward to pictures of what you make!

Great bag! I am in the middle of a pair of cable-knit fingerless gloves. Its been a few weeks since I've picked up the needles, but hopefully I can find some time tonight.... Keep us posted on your craftiness. :)

Thanks for all the encouragement!

lifeofalawstudent - i'm planning to make this cool crocheted bag - i think i included a link in the body of the post

NewKid - I totally hear you. I basically put all crafting on hold when I started law school, and I have just started to get back into things, and I am really really enjoying it. The yarn crafts are nice because you can just do a little bit of something when you get a chance.

Juliet - One day I will make those! I also recently bought myself a learn to knit dvd because it's something I haven't figured out yet. That one might have to wait til after graduation, though.

Pretty! And cozy.

Although your post title did cause me to immediately start listing other c-words that are better than corporations (and, coincidentally would make good hobbies, too). See, e.g.: cookies, cabernets, caberets, Cusacks, cossacks, cake, corgis, cat calling, crepe paper, etc.
